Erik R. Nelson is a partner with Conway & Mrowiec. Mr. Nelson concentrates his practice on complex construction disputes. He has experience representing contractors, trade contractors, architects and owners in litigation, mediation and arbitration involving construction contracts, mechanics liens, changes, construction defects, delay and acceleration, design errors and insurance coverage.
Recently, Mr. Nelson assisted Mr. Mrowiec in successfully representing a general contractor on a seven-figure claim in a multi-week arbitration against an earth retention subcontractor involving the cause of damages to an adjacent property and loss of efficiency, delay and acceleration damages and successfully representing a multiple prime contractor on a seven-figure claim in a multi-week arbitration against an owner involving out-of-sequence work caused by owner’s construction manager and loss of efficiency, delay and acceleration damages and prosecuted an arbitration claim of a general contractor for damages from suspension and delays on a hotel project settling at the onset of the hearing.
Mr. Nelson received his undergraduate and law degrees from Northwestern University.
Mr. Nelson is admitted to practice in the Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
